New features for EDW-100 Serial to Ethernet Converter

The EDW-100, our popular serial to Ethernet converter has been enhanced with a new release of firmware. This firmware is installed in all new EDW-100 units, but can also be requested to upgrade existing units.

This new release provides two exciting new features. The EDW-100 can now act as a Modbus gateway allowing conversion between serial Modbus (RTU or ASCII) and Modbus TCP over Ethernet. This is a comprehensive implementation allowing the EDW-100 to function either in server or client mode. Click here for more details

The unit also now fully supports IGMP multicasting meaning that when the EDW-100 is used to encapsulate a standard serial multidrop protocol the overhead of traffic on the Ethernet network is kept to a bare minimum, especially in networks supporting IGMP snooping. Click for more details

Most importantly, this new functionality is available at no additional cost.

Westermo accepted as a Rockwell Automation Encompass partner

Westermo has joined the Encompass Product Programme to build a closer working relationship with Rockwell Automation and enhance the marketability of each others products. The agreement currently covers EMEA.
