Westermo accepted as a Rockwell Automation Encompass Partner
Westermo has joined the Encompass Product Programme to build a closer working relationship with Rockwell Automation and enhance the marketability of each others products. The agreement currently covers EMEA.
“We are extremely excited and proud to become a Rockwell Automation Encompass Product Partner,” said Kenneth Isacsson, Sales & Marketing Director, Westermo Teleindustri AB. "Westermo has been very successful within the automation market, but joining the Encompass Programme enables us to provide our industrial communication solutions to a wider range of Rockwell equipment end users and system integrators. "
The emergence of Ethernet as an industrial networking protocol for automation and production machine control has enabled factory floor data to be made readily available throughout the manufacturing organisation. There are now over 20 new Westermo products referenced in the Encompass programme, including a wide range of Ethernet devices designed for today’s modern communication environment. These include: Ethernet extenders, ADSL routers, Serial to Ethernet converters, GSM/GPRS modems, Fibre to DH+ converters, Ethernet media converters, GPRS routers, Fibre optic to RS232/422/485 converters, Wireless Ethernet (802.11b and 869Mhz) modems and PSTN/Lease Line modems.
The Rockwell Automation customer will benefit from greater awareness and understanding of the Westermo range of high quality industrial data communications products and capabilities.
Westermo has built up a comprehensive range of detailed application notes to ease the integration of communication equipment into Rockwell systems with a series of step by step application documents.
Westermo are currently running seminars on remote access solutions within the Rockwell `Automation Universities’ taking place across Europe. The Automation Universities in Sweden, France and UK enable Westermo and Rockwell customers to explore unique communication possibilities.
