Ethernet router with integrated switch
Westermo Data Communications, the UK’s largest supplier of industrial Ethernet products has released two Ethernet routers designed to allow remote access to Ethernet networks as well as enabling the connection of separate Ethernet networks in a number of different point-to-point applications.

The ED-210 is an industrial Ethernet router with an integrated four port plug and play switch and an integral V.34 telephone modem making it ideal for remote access to networks.
The unit has transient protection on the line side as well as tri-galvanic isolation between all interfaces and the power supply. A “watchdog” monitors and automatically resets the modem in the event of a fault, making the unit ideal for installation in remote unmanned industrial sites.
Connection the router is simple as the integrated switch supports auto-negotiation. The router supports multiple user identification, passwords and a simple IP level firewall to provide ample additional security and all settings can be configured using the integrated Web tool.
An extended temperature range of –25 to +70 C and EMC immunity at heavy industrial levels enables the device to be used in projects where a high degree of reliability is required. In addition both routers have a wide range of DC power options.
