Westermo to demonstrate onboard, rail-to-ground and trackside solutions at RailLive 2019

Westermo will present a range of data networking solutions for onboard, rail-to-ground and trackside applications at RailLive 2019. Urbanisation, congestion and environmental concerns are driving passenger and freight use on the UK’s railways. Consequently, there is a growing need for more robust networks that support the evolution in train control and management systems, signalling, passenger information and CCTV systems. 

Westermo – a leading supplier of data communications solutions to the rail industry – is helping companies meet these requirements by creating secure and reliable data communications networks. On stand W52, Westermo will demonstrate its EN 50155-approved 12- and 20-port Viper industrial Ethernet and PoE switches for onboard applications, wireless LAN technology for inter-carriage and train-to-ground data links, and EN-50121-4-approved Lynx and Wolverine Ethernet switches for trackside data communication networks.

During the event, Westermo experts will be available to discuss network requirements, system configuration and security methodologies, and to provide recommendations on designing and implementing the world’s most robust networks.

RailLive, taking place at the Quinton Rail Technology Centre in Warwickshire on June 19-20, is the UK’s most comprehensive outdoor show for the rail industry. The event will feature over 200 exhibitors and around 6000 visitors from all aspects of the rail industry, including executive, procurement, project management and engineering.
